Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the creation of intelligent machines that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as learning, problem solving, and decision-making. AI is broadly classified into two categories: narrow or weak AI and general or strong AI. Narrow AI is designed to perform specific tasks, whereas general AI is designed to perform any intellectual task that a human can. Most AI in daily use is narrow AI.

In order to try and support teachers’ understanding and application of AI tools and technologies, our goal was to investigate how educators can remain abreast of the latest developments in AI to enhance pedagogy and the learning process.

AI has become increasingly prevalent in today's society, revolutionizing various industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and education. AI technology is already being used to develop intelligent personal assistants, chatbots, self-driving cars, medical diagnosis and treatment systems, fraud detection systems, and much more.
Likewise, these AI technologies are also being developed into educational tools such as instant feedback providers, chatbots, tutor services, assessment tools and more.
The subsequent pages of this site will delve deeper into current uses of AI in education, potential future applications of AI in education, implications of AI in education (both positive and negative), and resources we gathered that might be of use to teachers as they contemplate integrating AI into their classrooms/practices.
